Hi there!
Welcome again to my income report (hopefully not an experiment anymore!)
This month has been incredible busy, more on the backstage than on what you might see on the blog. July was full of business decisions that will affect my work in the future. Some more positive than others.
Collaborations
I have been contributing to two great sites: Mabey She Made It and Sew Mama Sew. Both projects have keeping me working very hard, because when you go as a guest, you want to show the best of you, right?
I have also been working on other two guest projects to be released in August, plus two more patterns for my blog. Uffff! I am glad is summer and the days are longer, LOL
I have also introduced Ami, from Stitching Insane. Lovely Ami will be collaborating with On the Cutting Floor with her great pattern reviews. You can check her first contribution here.
Support
I hired an assistant. And it has been the best thing every happened to On the Cutting Floor!
He is great; he helps me sending emails, updating this blog and submitting my work to other websites.
Now, I can't believe I have been making all that alone for 4 months! Now I can focus on my patterns more than anything else :)

The total page views this month has been 77.855! That means that On the Cutting Floor has generated 19 thousand more page views than June and grown about 33% from last month. Crazy uh?

As you can see, the tutorial of how to make a perfect round hem has gone viral from my website. Who knew?
The funny thing about it, it took me 1 hour to make the tutorial and posted online. If you compare that with the 10 days process of making a dress from scratch; it is amazing what the round hem post has made!
Let's talk about money!
July has been a very successful one in terms of an income. I am happy to be able to expand my income earning generators instead of having only one. But let's check the numbers:
Moms Affiliate: 105.00
Shareasale: 672.52
Infolinks: 108.56
Adsense: 67.03
Patterns Sold 5.97
Linkconnector 1.50
Commission Junction: 19.42
Sponsors: 290.25
Total Income: 1270.25
Supplies: 265.00
Moms Affiliate
This month I signed up with another affiliate program: Moms Affiliate. I like the idea of the articles and the chances to share products on my social media only. I have also been very pleased with the results on the articles and the way they pay for them
I want to explain the last point a little more. Every article has been paid into my paypal account 2 days after publishing. Most of the affiliate programs have a threshold amount in order to release the money or they collect the money and send it later, with almost 45 days delay! ( for example, I just received my first check with paypal)
So, knowing that you will receive the money in a short period of time is a relief.
Shareasale
It is again, the main income during this month, and it is again, because of Craftsy.
Unfortunately, Craftsy has decided to change its commission structure going from a comfortable 30 days cookies to a 1 day cookie for a return customer.
They have also made other changes, such as a higher pay per registration and a flat commission. So we'll see how everything works out at the end.
Sponsors
This month I decided to contact possible sponsors again.
After a discouraging start with my letters a few months ago. I thought about leaving that task for later, maybe 6 months.
However, when allfreesewing featured two of my dresses on its newsletter early this month, I made the decision to capitalize on those numbers. And I started to contact possible sponsors again.
I just made only one (big) change: instead of a simple letter, I created a media kit (you can check it here).
The response to it has been great and I got 5 sponsors signed up with me!
