This dress pattern is so simple; it does not require a pattern. It is ideal for beginners who want to practice their skills and have fun! :)
Materials:
Mid weight knit jersey
1 1/2 inch elastic (enough for your upper chest circumference
Two safety pins
Matching thread
Take your measurements:
Measure your hips. Add two inches for ease and 1 ½ inch for seam allowance.
Get the ideal length for your height (from your upper chest to your feet) + 3 inches for the hemline and the elastic at the top.
Cut two panels based on those measurements.
Cut a waist strap: Three inches wide and it must, at least, double your waist measurement.
For example:
® My hips circumference is 38 inches + ease (2 ½ inches) + seam allowance (1 ½ inch). Then divide that number by 2 = 21 inches wide.
® My measurement from the upper chest to my feet is 40.8 inches so I added 3 inches to it = 44 inches length.
