1. Place the front and back yoke together, right sides facing. Pin and sew along the sides. Repeat with the pieces for the facing.
2. Place the yoke and the yoke facing together, right sides facing. Pin the top area and sew along.
3. Turn to the right side and sew along the top by 1/4 inch from the edge.
4. Skirt: Close the sides of the skirt.
5. Make a gathering at the top of the skirt: set your sewing machine to the longest stitch and sew along the top of the skirt, making two parallel lines. As shown in the picture below, leave the threads long enough to adjust the width of the skirt to the yoke.
6. Double fold the yoke back opening. First fold 1/4 inch, then fold 1 1/2 inch on both sides, making a buttonhole area.
7. Sew along the opening and make two long rectangles on each side. 8. Place the skirt and the yoke together, right sides facing. Pin and sew along the waist.
9. Overlap the buttonhole area on the back.
10. Tuck the yoke facing by 5/8 inch to the inside of the skirt. Pin and sew along the waist. 11. Turn around and iron flat. 12. Buttonhole: Set your sewing machine to make the buttonhole. I chose to make it with a contrasting thread. Sew the button on the other side.
13. Put the remaining buttons on the front of the skirt.
